Teak ('Tectona grandis') is esteemed across the nation for its usage in boat building, fine furniture making, flooring, cabinetry and marine applications. The present natural oils in Teak wood make for an extremely strong and durable material, withstanding high humidity; therefore resisting moisture and the drying effects of weather.
Cypress ('Cupressus sempervirens') is useful and valuable for the following applications: boat planking, river pilings, docks, building construction, doors, shingles, flooring, garden boxes, exterior and interior trim, fence posts and cabinetry. Cypress also contains a natural oil, 'cypressene', contributing to the overall stability, including splitting and warping resistant qualities.
